Watercliffe Meadows School Piling
This project included the demolition of the existing log retaining structures along with their foundations, followed by the installation of new plastic sheet piling systems to replace them.
Plastic sheet piling, made from recycled PVC, has been available in the UK for nearly 20 years.
Offering exceptional durability, PVC does not rust or rot, making it an ideal choice for permanent applications requiring low-maintenance solutions.
Lightweight & Easy to Handle – Due to its reduced weight, plastic sheet piling can be manually carried into restricted-access sites, making installation in challenging environments more feasible.
Eco-Friendly & Sustainable – The lower weight also means fewer required deliveries, reducing on-site disruption and minimising the carbon footprint of major construction projects.
Balanced Performance – Plastic sheet piling competes directly with trench sheeting and hot-rolled steel piling, but has carved out its own niche—offering the water-tightness of a hot-rolled section, without the need for excessive strength.
Improved Design & Load Support – Earlier Economy (Standard) Z piles were lightweight but limited in drivability. Recent advancements include heavy-duty Z and U sheet piles, along with our next-generation MultiLock, ProLock, and Truline sheet piling systems, further improving performance and reliability.
Aesthetic Appeal – Unlike traditional industrial sheet piling with repetitive corrugations, plastic piling provides a sleek, modern appearance, enhancing the visual appeal of hard-engineered structures.
Applications of Plastic Sheet Piling
Plastic sheet piling is widely used across civil engineering projects, particularly in applications requiring retention or exclusion of materials. Over the years, plastic piling has gained traction in water control applications, including:
With its proven durability, environmental benefits, and innovative design, plastic sheet piling continues to redefine modern infrastructure solutions.
